I am also in the "stalemate" camp, while holding out some hope for favorable movement and also some fear of Ukraine getting worn out.   This week in addition to the Ukrainian general's comments there was a comment out of moscow that included the "negotiation" word.  Always hard to tell when backchannel discussions hit enough momentum to be meaningful and this could be purely coincidental, but at some point this will end.
