While some fans are decrying the professionializaion of college sports, one part of professional sports that would have benefited college sports is a strict governance structure. The NCAA has been completely ineffective in that role and is coming around to the idea that it needs legislation to bring things under control. Legislation might have been feasible and worked a decade ago, but at this point, it is a day late and a dollar short.
