When did Nixon take this world-tour of a trip to which he refers? He died in April 1994, so this letter is dated just days before his death.
Who accompanied him on this trip? Did his old advisor Kissinger travel with him? I ask because I have always wondered how much of Nixon's foreign policy expertise was really his own, and how much was Kissinger. Somewhere I also saw a reference to a controversy about Dmitri Simes's role. I could easily see Simes offering some trenchant analysis of the situation in Russia in 1994.
