On at least three occasions this year I've heard Giants commentators describe the difficulty of outfielders seeing fly balls due to:

- glare from sun streaming in through the windows at an indoor stadium (can't remember which one)

- glare from sun coming through clouds at Oracle park in SF, particularly for left fielders 

- conditions just like those at Sunken Diamond last night, just around sunset (last night it was just minutes after sunset).  The discussion was specifically about that night at Oracle, but did not seem to be limited to Oracle

FYI, while considering the fact that softballs are generally yellow for the last 20 years or so, I found this item from MLB hall of fame concerning yellow balls briefly used in MLB during the 1930's:
