I have a hard time believing the Pentagon was only tipped off about it by journalists.
I suspect that there was a fair amount of disinformation spread before the culprit was apprehended.
Separately...I wonder if we shared Putin's whereabouts with Ukraine? Putin has visited Ukraine twice...I'm surprised the Ukraine military didn't make an attempt on his life while he was on their soil.
