With the portal and NIL as it now is Stanford is going to have trouble keeping up with super teams formed via the portal like LSU was this season, or teams that simply fill holes using the portal so that they never have a down year. Nobody has to develop younger players if they don't want to. Just toss them and get new, more experienced ones. Is it good for the sport that some players just never get a real chance to play because their team can just "portal" over them. It is musical chairs. Team brings in an experienced transfer so the players who now won't play end up transferring, and they maybe bump someone else down a notch, and then that player transfers, and on we go.
We just had a record breaking F4 as far as viewership. WCBB is on the upswing. But how will diehard fans feel as they watch their team's roster turn over every year? Don't get too attached, the players you hope to watch develop will probably be gone in a year or two.
