Jean Vuarnet won the downhill, the first racer to use metal skis. He went on to sunglass fame.

Shirley Jones, aka Shirley Partridge, was well into her pregnancy with son Patrick during the filming of the Music Man. Apparently few knew, until Patrick kicked Robert Preston during the footbridge seen.

Good one. I should really have guessed that, as I did know at one time that Shirley Jones starred in both of those.

I almost said Vuarnet. They were all the rage in my Santa Cruz high school back in the late 1970s.

Still have a half dozen pair. They were the first glasses that really enabled a skier to see contrast in the snow. Helped tremendously with ruts when racing and moguls when free skiing. Loved them. Remember breaking the bank and paying $28 for a pair of sunglasses. . . ..
