Everything I’ve seen here and elsewhere about Bart suggests he’s not a keeper. Too bad, on paper he was a good draft pick.

Since the advent of the draft 58 years ago in 1965, we drafted three impact outfielders in three years; Garry Maddox. Gary Matthews and George Foster. In the other 59 years, we had a few good ones that we let go including Rob Deer, Pete Incaviglia, Chris Singleton, J. D. Drew and Bryan Reynolds. The only great homegrown outfielders that we kept were Jack Clark and Chili Davis. We had a number of "ok" outfielders including Steven Duggar, Austin Slater, Fred Lewis, Dan Ortmeier, Marvin Benard, Calvin Murray, Bryce Johnson, Mac Williamson, Adam Hyzdu, Ron Roenicke, Gary Thomasson. That's about it -- and technically speaking, we did draft Barry Bonds out of Serra.
