The Giants sure are looking like a team that is happy to lose in exchange for maximizing their profits. They are being run to make money, not win. No Top 10 most valuable franchise should be worried about making money, because the real value is in the equity. PLEASE, Giants owners, sell to Joe Lacob and take your profits!!!
Kinda hard to spend your money when no one wants to take it (see Judge) or unforeseen issues occur (see Correa).
I can understand unhappiness in years past but this off-season, the Giants made a full effort. I expect them to do the same next off-season re: Ohtani. Whether he signs is another story.
In other words, you can’t make guys sign contracts. You only offer them and the Giants are doing that (now).
The A’s are the best example of the fallacy of revenue sharing. Instead of spending the monies they receive from other clubs, they simply pocket it. That is the definition of a franchise that doesn’t give a damn what their fans think….
