Can't recall where I read it, but I ran across an article that described the behavior and attitudes of Londoners during the Blitz. Apparently, they learned to adapt quite quickly to regular Nazi bombings and adjusted fairly quickly, to the point that learned to live with it, and didn't lose their resolve, just as the Ukrainians appear to be doing.
