Nice start of spring for DeSclafani.

He's doing very well. Both Taylor and Tyler Rogers haven't yet given up a run, same with Guzman and about a dozen minor league pitchers. Hjelle has given up one run in five innings. Sam Long has a 3.00 ERA, Logan Webb is 3.60. On the other hand, 21 year old phenom Kyle Harrison has an 18.00 ERA, same as Alex Cobb. Former Stanford Cardinal Tristan Beck sits at 7.20 ERA. Szapucki is at a firm 81.00 ERA. He got one out and gave up three earned runs. Not as bad as Drew Strotman who gave up 13 runs in 2/3rds of an inning.

On the hitting side, Stanford's own Stephen Piscotty leads the team with six hits (two doubles), and Casey Schmitt is right behind at five hits. Joey Bart is 3 for 8 with only 1 strikeout. Plays-a-catcher-on-TV Blake Sabol is 5 for 11, and all five are extra base hits, two HRs and three doubles. Conforto is 3 for 11 with an HR, JD Davis is 3 for 9, Haniger is 3 for 10 with two doubles. McCray is 3/10, he and Diaz have .364 OBPs. Thairo Estrada, 1 for 7. Late night Lamonte Wade is only 2 for 8, but both were extra base hits, a double and an HR. Crawford is 1 for 7, and Carter Aldrete is 2 for 9.

On the flip side, David Villar is the proud owner of an 0 for 11 streak. Yaz is 0 for 4. Wynns is 1 for 9, someon named Coulter is 2 for 15, Heliot Ramos is 2 for 13, Patrick Bailey is 1 for 7.

Giants are just 3-7 after 10 games, and Slater is still out with elbow neuritis. On the good side, after giving up six errors in their first game, they've only had five more errors in nine games. That's progress, isn't it?
