Well, well, well... Kevin Durant traded to the Phoenix Suns while you were sleeping.
The Lakers also somehow found someone dumb enough to take Russell Westbrook off their hands, and they got DeAngelo Russell and Jarred Vanderbilt back in return. Seems like not a lot for a just a first round pick, even if unprotected. This deal demonstrates why I see the Lakers now finishing ahead of the Warriors, though ESPN reported the LAL have the toughest schedule in the WC the rest of the way.
The Warriors seem to have become an also ran very quickly. They need another wing or inside defender. Maybe they can pry Jae Crowder from the Nets, who was part of the Durant trade - and will want to be on a playoff contender due to his age - before the deadline expires.
