But they can't ban burning the Koran and they can't arrest the people who did it. Anything less will be seen as paying lip service to the issue by Erdoğan and most of his supporters in Türkiye. Unfortunately, this is an emotional issue and rational responses to emotional issues generally don't satisfy the people involved. Erdoğan knows full well this is the last thing the Swedish government wanted to happen. In his world, if somebody does something the government doesn't like, they get squashed. He expects everybody else to do the same. He remains unsatisfied by less. Sometimes he has to grin and bear it, but in this case he believes he doesn't, it seems.
