Oh, no worries. I sensed that I was misreading you or something. I would tend to agree, but one never knows. People can tolerate a lot, especially if they're being fed misinformation. On a somewhat related note, perhaps, before Putin's invasion I wasn't sure we'd ever see a ground war between two nations like this again. Humanity is full of surprises.

Sorry, I meant American lives. And just to preempt further responses, I would not consider the civil war, WWI, and WWII needless and I would not consider most of the loss of life in prior pandemics preventable/needless either.
