I'm not all that broken up by this. 13 years is a very long time. Who knows. Maybe they dodged a bullet. The doctors had to see something. The Twins did have a significant insurance policy on Correa's ability to play. Perhaps it would have been workable, but we'll never know. HIPAA laws and all.
If I were the Giants, I'd dump the old guys, and put stock in the youngsters, and collect several from other teams if possible--even buy out some contracts. Might be fun watching a group of talented young guys on the way up, then find ways to keep them for the long haul. Talented hungry youth can go a long ways, methinks.
