dude is a generic term for person. So a person (no animals) who we think is the coolest....there are plenty of awards for best athlete and congeniality etc. This about who we like the most for style and class of their very own. It could be a club player or a synchro swimmer. The nominator has to make the case. I would not want it to be too formal so our definition of cool could change over time.
Maybe a better answer is we define it anyway the community feels we want to do so. Â Wacky or serious, razzie or Oscar.
