Imagine Rodon as a closer. Two pitch guy, one inning. Unhittable. Won't do it. It would all depend on daily recovery and a starter's salary.
Dominguez reminds me of Doval. But Doval has two fastballs and the slider. Signs of maturity in the second half.
Compelling game last night. Realmuto is the Realdeal. Still not convinced that he didn't nail Altuve.
The Altuve call could have gone either way. Regardless, whatever call that was made on the field should stand because it was too close to overturn. Well done, MLB for sticking to the ump’s call.
Also, a rare but great call on the denial of the attempted HBP.
It was a good game. As I was watching, I was thinking about the rule changes that are coming next year. I think batters are going to have a hard time getting used to the idea that they cannot step out of the box after (seemingly) every pitch.
Harry Wendlestadt…..
I also think the changes are going to have an impact on pitchers and their ability to fire 100 mile fastball after 100 mile fastball. You have to work faster you don’t get as much of a breather between pitches.
Quick trivia - who was the Giants hitter who was not awarded first base as a result of Wendlestadt’s call?
