In a perfect world, add Bell and either DeGrom (assuming he opts out of the two remaining years on his contract - a safe assumption, I think) or Severino (if the Yankees decline his option) and SF has completed the luxury aisle of their shopping list.
This assumes Judge returns to the Yanks and Rodon joins Texas to help Bochy compete with the Astros in the AL West.
Correa (or one of the other SS). Nimmo (or Reynolds via trade) At least one SP. 3-4 type. That’s my big money shopping list. Judge would be fine. But not as the only pick up.
Correa will cost the most of the SS as he’s younger. Plus the best all around SS. He’s brilliant defensively and of course can hit. Crawford would have to move to second. But that’s fine. Estrada to left or becomes super utility.
Bowden suggests $345 over 10 for Correa. Probably about right. I guess we are going to see if the Giants are serious about opening the vault. There returning payroll is about $100 million. Meaning they should have another $100 million plus to play with. NO EXCUSES.
