Yeah, Wynns was my last cut. If SF goes to 38 (which is more likely, quite frankly, than 37), he makes the cut.
Nice work, Giants. I’m thinking Gonzalez sticks. But it’s close. I also think Wade is a possible cut.
Similar players. The edge Wade has is that he can play 1B; whereas, Gonzalez’s only position other than OF is pitcher :), Depending on what happens with Belt, that could be enough to go Wade over Gonzalez.
Flexibility aside, given how banged up he was most of the season, if he can get back to good health, I believe Wade can still be a contributor in a platoon with Slater. (Yes, I used the “p word”. I hope I don’t get banned).
As you correctly noted in an earlier post, nothing wrong w it’s a couple positions. platooning. One OF and DH certainly. I think Gonzalez is a better athlete than Wade. With a slightly higher upside.
