Luck is just awesome, love that guy, love his personality and demeanor, always says the right thing, team first guy. He might be the only athlete where I would even consider wearing his jersey (the main limiting factor being the fact that I look like a complete dork in a football jersey). Was an absolute thrill to watch him perform down the stretch, one of those times where true life is better than the movies, playing for a greater cause than just a game. He has been pretty darn clutch this year at the end of halves and games, and the way he bounces back from his mistakes is amazing. I think it was 2 drives before that final drive in the 4th, he threw a pretty poor interception, but just like against SC, he rallied his team to win the game by driving for a FG and then the TD. Could tell Luck really wanted this one -- I may be wrong, but it may be the only time I can remember him actually spiking a ball after a TD (after his rushing TD).Â
We are also seeing more of the mobility and the rollouts that he didn't really have to show that much of at Stanford because our line was so good. Luck is running for his life out there and making plays. If our o-line at Stanford was worse, he may have had more highlight plays to help him win the Voldemort. I just hope he doesn't get hurt out there with the makeshift o-line he has now. That's the only thing I can see derailing his future.
The Colts really should be 3-1, if they hadn't given up a 80+ yard pass play with under a minute to go to the Jags. Give them a year or two to bring in some players, and they will be real exciting. (My pipe dream would be to see Gerhart and Luck reunited, poor Toby barely even gets significant playing time in Minnesota.) Seeing our former players and coaches help the Colts and 49ers is awesome. It's the opposite of the Mike Montgomery effect where his leaving Stanford caused both Stanford and the Warriors to suck (or in the Warriors case, to continue sucking). My wife, however, is not too fond of me trying to watch 3 football games every weekend.
What's just as amazing to me how many people are Andrew Luck haters, and for no discernible reason that I can gather. (As an aside, you can count me in as a Cam Newton hater, and I am quite glad that he is stinking it up this year thus far. For me, he represents a good deal of what is wrong with college football today.) Do not read ESPN message boards unless you like to bathe in a constant stream of idiocy. "Luck is a bust", "Luck = Ryan Leaf", "RG3>Luck", blah, blah, blickity, blah. Every now and then I take a dip just to see what people are saying, and I swear I can feel my brain cells individually swelling and dying from the osmotic pressure of stupidity as each moronic post flies down the screen in that god-awful format of theirs.Â
