Russia has lost significantly more than 2k vehicles, you can audit this list if you want, but they regularly review and check for duplicates at Oryx, they are some of the best at what they do. They Show 6,647 total Russian vehicle losses, including 4,064 destroyed and 2,122 captured.  And keep in mind, this is only equipment that has visually confirmed to be lost, so it's likely a decent amount higher.  Granted, they have captured 614 pieces of equipment from Ukraine, but even still, Russia has experienced unsustainable losses during this war, which is why they have been digging into their reserves for months.

Thank you for the reference.  I had heard of those numbers but thought them to be perhaps the result of too much Vodka.  Those are astounding.  Ukraine can easily replaces its losses from those captured I would think.  Can the Ukraine keep itself adequately supplied with munitions, food and all the other stuff an army moving fast needs?  Think Patton in 1944.
If the rumors of Ukrainian armor breakthrough near Kherson and now driving South along the West bank of the Dnipro, a bunch of Russian troops could be in serious trouble.  I hope it is true.  The river provides a nice immediate defense against counter attacks from the East.  Doesn't do much to stop artillery and air strikes, but it helps.

Thank you for the reference.  The numbers are astounding.  From the numbers captured it would seem that the Ukrainians now have more tanks than when they started without getting any from elsewhere.  It also makes you wonder how many more the Russians have to give up?  I know they are reputed to have never scrapped any weapon no matter how old, but there has to be a finite limit somewhere.
I also hope the reports of Ukrainian breakthroughs North of Kherson and now driving South along the Dnipro are true.  If so, a lot of Russian troops will find themselves between a rock and hard spot.  The river is a nice immediate buffer against land counterattacks.
