There are also quite a few BTGs hanging out in the direction of Olecksandrivka that would need to be included in such a surrender. From the Russian point of view the only surrender terms that make sense is to allow the Russians to leave with their weapons and vehicles. Otherwise, it is just about as bad as fighting it out. I think no way Ukraine agrees to such terms, so it will probably be fought out. The other thing to consider is that Putin possibly can't afford two losses in quick succession. Fighting it out at least delays the second loss and I assume the Russians are praying for bad weather that will slow down the Ukrainians. It will slow down the Russians and their supplies too, but since the Russians don't intend to retreat, it doesn't matter (until it really, really does :-))
