Looks like only a matter of time.

Astounding to me how fast this has proceeded.  I hope it wasn't too fast. 
That, of course, results in equipment being abandoned.   I imagine intelligence agencies are very interested in getting hands on some of that equipment.

And I assume those Russians were jumping out of the tank because they expected to be hit by an anti-tank missile.

Maybe they had spotted the drone that was tracking them from above. 
  "Hey, Yvan, is that our tank on the live video feed from Ukraine??...I'm outta here"
They didn't want to be on the next highlight reel as the drone dropped an explosive into their hatch.
It is true that they may have lost their tank but they didn't lose their lives.
