He's an exceptionally valuable player. Their fan base wants him badly and is hoping he is signed to an extension before hitting the free agent market. Trea Turner is the epitome of what the Giants need to increase the athleticism of their team, and he would subtract it from their enemy.
I don't want to hear about coming in second. The Giants' mandate is to sign him to a bigger deal than the Dodgers will give him. Period. Because that's how you win in free agency. If he doesn't sign an extension before the season ends, it may be a signal the Giants are telling his agent they are going to go big for him. I don't see much of a market for Turner beyond a few teams and that list doesn't include the Mets, Yankees, or Red Sox.
Doubtful. I’ll believe the Giants are willing to spend when I see it. Plus they are, I think, more likely to rebuild. It will be years before they are in Dodgers league. Today reminds me of the Mid-70’s. Except I’m not young…..Depressing.
I’ve also grown tired of Gabe speak. I know they won 107 last year. But I just can’t warm up to the guy.
