Charlie Swindells was the first Stanford player in MLB, 1904, played for the Cardinals. I posted this about 10 months ago.
There have been five California Leagues in MLB history, and you are no doubt referring to the current version. Four of the leagues came and went between 1886 and 1909. But for historical accuracy's sake, let's add the San Jose Dukes (1891), Drakes (1892), Florists (1898), and Prune Pickers (1899, 1903-1909).
