but the wearer can protest, "i have the right to choose!" my point was that you don't have the right to decline to protect others from communicable disease (syphillis, gonorrhea, aids, tuberculosis...and covid)
similar to condoms and std's: of course they protect the wearer, but the wearer sometimes says, "they should be optional; i'll take that risk."
useful and optional to protect the wearer. useful and required to protect others.
