All season the Mavs had occasional games where the shooting just failed them. If the Warriors want to keep defending the three point line like last night (i.e. hardly at all), I welcome it.
I picked Mavs to beat Suns, for full context, but think it's clear Grizzlies > Suns & Mavs.
The W's have the highest FG% and lowest FG% allowed of all remaining playoff teams, good for a +5.2 FG% differential. Dallas is the worst of all the remaining teams in both categories, with the 11th best -2.1 FG% differential of all playoff teams. If making baskets and stopping the other team from making them is the name of the game, the Warriors are winning that game over Mavericks because they have more better players.
Luka Doncic is GREAT and I love him as a player. Total badass, confident, respects the game. Unfortunately, his team just doesn't have the collective talent needed to get into an NBA Finals at this time. He needs a second All-Star at least to get him there.
LOL. Are we forgetting about Morant?
Anyway, your comments sound like they come from someone who saw few or no Mavericks game this year. I'm not saying the Mavs will win the series (as I said before game 1--I didn't have a strong sense of who would win the series). But you're making some pretty big conclusions from a single bad game. Like I said, you could've made similar conclusions after watching games 1 or 2 of the Phoenix series. Let's wait and see where we are after, say, 3 games.
