Interesting article on positive effect of Ukraine military training with Nato in recent years (including California National Guard, which Ive read about elsewhere also).

Likely behind a paywall so in short—— Nato encouraged/taught decentralized decision making (more decision making authority to soldiers further down the chain), more focus on the value of non-coms (valuing battlefield experience more) and more “professionalism” (like auditors looking for corruption or whether equipment really works).  Has resulted in a more nimble, Western style military.
