The only Yale coach I know is Ethan Allen who invented the board game All Star Baseball which I played for hours in the 50's.

Smoky Joe Wood coached Yale for 20 years.

Roger Angell wrote perhaps the best ever magazine article about baseball in The New Yorker, recounting perhaps the best ever college baseball game, which he watched together with Smoky Joe Wood: St. John's beat Yale 1-0 in 12 innings in an NCAA CWS regional, Ron Darling threw 11 no-hit innings but lost to Frank Viola who threw 11 shutout innings.

Should have pulled them after 6.  Pitch count….
