Actually, this exacerbates and solidifies California's position as the #50 state given that the statistic used 2010 population figures of around 37 mm and 1,140 golf courses.  2020's population has increased to 39,538,223 and the number of golf courses in CA have shrunk to 921.  Denominator increased, numerator decreased.  Yuck.
