Kind of feel the same about Minoso.  Led the league in triples 4x, doubles once, led the league in SBs 3x, led in caught stealing six times.  Led league in HBP 10 times.  9x all star, sub-.300 career batter.  Finished in Top 10 for MVP voting just once.

According to some sources he was 28 when he began his MLB career (other sources say 25) due to the color line. As a rookie he batted 326/422/500 (that was one of the years he finished fourth in MVP voting) so it's safe to say that if he had lighter skin and had begun his career earlier he would have put up similar numbers for a few years at least and garnered some more MVP votes.

You're correct that he was a sub-.300 hitter, he hit .299 (more precisely .2994) for his career. With a .387 OPB and .461 SLG.
