I favor any athlete sticking around as long as they love/want to play and a team will pay him to do it.  And I say that even though I agree some athletes appear to me to hang on too long.

I agree. In a way, it is even more a tribute to them when they play with diminished skills. It is one thing to go out there and compete when you know you are better than everybody else. It is another when you go out there knowing you are not and that it will take 110% to be even adequate. I guess I relate more to the latter.

I think SF will go with Bart and Casali at the big league level and sign a veteran free agent to play at Sacramento and be ready in case of injuries…..


Bailey and Genoves will continue to move up through the minors…

I hope that is what they do. Casali played pretty well this year. If Bart has it, giving him a year to prove it makes sense. No need to find a long-term solution if no obvious candidate out there.
