Stanford probably still had the talent to beat Harvard, but just hadn't processed the loss of two of their best players.  But it was a pretty deep team, especially in the post.  In addition to Folkl, Stanford had Olympia Scott and Naomi Mulitauaopele, both of them seniors.  And, as mentioned, on top of Nygaard at Guard, Milena Flores was the PG, one of the more underrated Stanford guards (she still stands third all-time in career assists behind Henning and Azzi).

maybe, but allison feaster was the leading scorer in the country that year. i remember watching her 3s clang of the rim in warm-ups and thinking, we can handle her. then the game started and, suddenly, her 3's all went in. she scored 35 on us. vanessa would have been defending her.
