Yeah, it was slammin' Sammy.

Here are the numbers:
Sammy Sosa (45)
Ken Griffey Jr. (44)
Fred McGriff (43)
Ellis Burks (41)

It's easier to do in modern times with inter-league games, expansion to 30 teams, and the spate of new ballparks.  Sosa split his career between the NL (Chicago) and the AL (Texas, Chicago, and Baltimore) so he played in (and hit home runs in) lots of different ballparks.

Interesting stat about Sosa.  He hit 60 PED-aided home runs three different times (1998, 1999, and 2001), the most career 60+ home run seasons.  But, although Sosa won the homerun crown twice (2000 and 2002), neither were in a year he hit 60+ home runs.  In 1998 and 1999 he was behind McGuire, and in 2001 he was behind Bonds.
