When I watched the recording I found that, because of the length of the baseball game, I had missed the first 85 minutes (!) real time of the Stanford-USC game thanks to Fox. I had to wait until the "Football in 60" broadcast on Pac-12 Network--which has all kinds of audio production issues--to watch the entire game.
I can't tell you how many times I got screwed by this. I finally have caught on -- when I saw the Mets/Yankees game 20 minutes before kickoff (6th inning), I immediately switched to FS1 and just knew the game would be there.
It's gotten to the point where you have to see what's scheduled before the Stanford game, just assume that any other sporting event will pre-empt the Stanford one, and then record the backup channels. Fox will usually bump to Fox Sports 1, but it can get funky when the other networks are busy also.
Probably someone posted it on last week's game thread but I propose a standing practice on Cardboard to post a fresh thread whenever a game's opening is bumped to another network.
