I’m sure I said that earlier in the year. This has been an incredible run. Completely unexpected. The over/under was, I believe 74. They may beat that by 30 games…..

Giants are #10 in payroll, above the MLB averagr. But they are also $38 million below the current tax. We'll see what happens after the new CBA.
Dodgers and Red Sox are the only teams hit by the tax.

MLB has proposed a tax beginning at $180 million. There is no way the players will accept that; however, I do expect something that will cause the high payroll teams to think twice about signing guys to “Bauer-like” contracts.
The players may get a minimum payroll in exchange.

I expect the players to fight to shorten years of team control. I believe it is currently 6 years. That is too long now that contracts are less based on what the player has done and more focused on what he projects forward based on analytics.
