Sorry I'm late to the party, but that K-State team that beat the snot out of Stanford on Saturday looked a lot like the team that has beaten Oklahoma the past two seasons.
K-State, if it stays healthy, just might beat Oklahoma again in a few weeks and will be ranked at the end of the season.
Sometimes very good teams make mediocre teams look bad, especially on the road at 9 am body-clock time. It's depressing, because Stanford used to play the role of the very good team.
I've read all of the justified bellyaching about how awful Stanford was. But give the Wildcats some credit. They may be the third- or fourth-best team that Stanford will face all season.
And now McKee is starting and the first- to second-game improvements begin.

If there's one thing people have learned in Berkeley, it's that you can't put "Cal football" and "Rose Bowl" in the same sentence. The words just don't fit. You'd be better off linking "covered wagons" with "Mars travel." (Bruce Jenkins, Cal '70, SF Chronicle, Nov. 11, 2017)
