Stanford's defense will be strongly tested. Not only is Thompson a run/pass threat, K State has another RB in the Darren Sproles mold. Deuce Vaughn is 5'6", 173 lbs who was the Big 12 Frosh of the Year last year and a Freshman All American. He rushed for 642 yards, caught 25 passes and returned kicks. He's the kind of small, quick player who has given Stanford fits over the years.
K State likes to rotate their RBs and Stanford is likely to face true frosh big back (6'1", 207 lbs) DJ Giddens. He has stood out in fall practice.
Stanford will also face a familiar face at TE. Daniel Imatorbhebhe is playing his 7th college season for his 4th school. He played for USC from 2015-2019, catching one pass for 48 yards vs. Stanford in the 2017 conference championship game. Man, that seems like ages ago.
