I hope your playoff confidence in McGee proves justified.  He was very tidy last night.

P.S.  Agree with Phogge that Crawford isn't getting nearly enough run as potential MVP winner.  Incredible season to date.

Here's a stat for you...the 34-year old Crawford leads the starters with nine stolen bases and no caught stealing (Slater has 10).  He has 70 RBI...Yaz has the next most with 47.  He has the most runs (58), most hits (104), most HRs (19) and second-most doubles and triples.  He's a very good shortstop, #5 in assists in the NL, currently fielding .981 which is third best of his career, behind the .983 and .982 in his 2nd and 3rd gold glove years, 2017 and 2017.  But he's definitely lost a step defensively, now his range factor is only slightly above average, whereas he used to be considerably above average -- even last year, he averaged nearly 1/2 chance per game more than average shortstops.  

I don't know about MVP, but I think he'll finish in the top five in voting.  In 2016, he finished 12th, his only time in the Top 20 in MVP voting.

And Posey...he's having the best year of his career outside of his MVP season with an OPS+ of 155 (versus career average of 129).  Posey has 44.2 career WAR, will be 46 by the end of this season and at least 48 by the end of next season.  Only 12 catchers have WAR over 48, and 11 are in the Hall.  The 12th is Joe Mauer, who moved off the catcher position.  Posey has WAR figures better than HoFers Bresnahan, Lombardi, Campanella, Ferrell, and Schalk.  I think he needs two more excellent seasons including this one.  If they get a WS win this year, I think Posey sews it up.

BTW...Alex Wood is pitching tonight.  He's 10-3.  The Giants are currently 12-0 in games he's started after a loss -- and hopefully 13-0 after tonight.
