Even in the case of "future pros" players there are two cases. One is that they are transferring from a "lower tier" conference where they may be overlooked to an "upper tier" conference. That may make sense. The other case is lack of playing time because you are not the best player on the team at your position. Many athletes may put themselves in the latter category, believing they have a pro career ahead but that they just need to get on the field/court. Some (very few) of these players are correct. Most (vast majority) are kidding themselves. They aren't playing where they are and probably won't play where they are going. That is where the real tragedy lies. These transfers get a worse/no education and no pro career anyway.
