Only if someone goes on the IL in which case he can return anytime. Otherwise, he has to remain in Sacto for ten days.
Note: That was the rule in the past. I am assuming it is still on the books.
The rule used to be ten days for position players and fifteen days for pitchers, this year it was modified to ten days for all players.
Thanks for the clarification.

I'll tell you this, in the sample size we saw, Wade is a big leaguer, maybe he's a 4th or 5th guy on a really good team but belongs.
Jaylin Davis has figured it out in AAA, but maybe he's another giants AAAA OF.
Agree, Jeebs. Wade earned a position. An OF by trade, he was excellent at 1B. He had a number of difficult plays there and smoothly handled all of them. I'd send Vosler, dfa Tauchman and return him to Sacto when nobody claims a .187 hitter.
What message do you send when you send a guy down that was performing as well as Wade? I understand the options “dilemma”. But I also think they would have DFA’d Tauchman had they not given up a serviceable major league relief pitcher for him. I do think he gets picked up if they release him
No message other than, “Stay ready because you will be back here soon”.
