A guy throws two or three good passes - against a defense that they see every day, which ranked 108th in F+, 78th in scoring defense, and 110th in opponents' yards per play in 2020 - against the second and third string, in a game where it's illegal to hit a QB, and we're anointing him the next Andrew Luck.
I am not trying to be critical - I'm including myself in this!
I agree that worrying about departures to the NFL by any of our QBs is highly presumptuous at this point. They have proven precisely nothing yet. In addition, if the worst thing that happens is that McKee or Patu are that good, then we've probably got at least one good season in front of us!
I'm actually most intrigued by Patu's future, though it won't really be seen for a while. That kid just oozes the "it" factor.
Whatever "it" is I hope "it" is applicable to helping make his team more competitive than what we've endured in recent years. This goes for all the QBs on the roster. And what Ive seen, read and heard smacks of wishful thinking. Defense and depth, as always, determines winners. With this mind I'm hard-put to get excited.
Life is too short to waste on crap football.
