The SEC's significant financial resource advantage and minimal climate disadvantage is really hurting Pac-12 programs. Softball, baseball, gymnastics, swimming and even track & field used to be dominated by Pac-10 teams. Now many of those sports are shared with or simply dominated by SEC types.
Alabama had a great year, IMHO, with football and three NCAA team titles of the women's side. Florida and LSU have some highlights too. My guess is that the next non-Stanford winner of the NACDA cup will be from the SEC.
Thankfully, with the great TV deal the Pac-12 programs will be able to plow money into better training and facilities for Olympic sports, and most of the Pac-12 AD's seem eager to keep up with the SECs spending race. Well, with the exception of UCB that has stated their new funds will only serve to help close their annual budget gap.
