Bowling is a sport that I think could be co-ed for the NCAA. Is it necessary to have men and women's teams? I think the competition can be very even and the additional strength men naturally have is not a factor in the sport IMO.
In the few bowling tourneys that I played in, our teams (from work) were mixed.
I think it's one of the few "bigger" sports where men and women can compete on an even level without one having an advantage over the other.
