Lloyd had a much longer career than Dom. Hit .316 while Dom was just under .300. Still think the Waners were better. However some writers believe that Dom was the equal of Willie Mays in CF. Another two years hitting .300 probably would have gotten him in the Hall. I remember him as a ceremonial pall bearer for JoeD at St Peter and Paul Church on Washington Sq. in North Beach. Important place in our family history as my mom was baptized, given first communion, confirmed and buried from there. Vince used to attend SF Oldtimers Baseball monthly dinners and I was a barfly entranced by stories from the older guys during cocktail hour. San Francisco has a rich baseball history but there hasn’t been much since Mike Norris pitched for the A’s.
