"Seven separate networks" makes it sound like more than what it is. Really it's just seven available streams that never are all different, and many of which are rerunning prerecorded programming most of the time.

I am not in the media business, so I don't know the specific industry economics. I imagine that it is more expensive than just running one channel/stream, I just don't know how much - some, a lot or just a little. We do know that there is no precedent for what the P12 has done (consistent with Larry Scott's "bold vision"). No other conference is running more than one channel. Of course no conference is televising more events than the P12 Network either.

We also know that services providers have balked at the cost and space on their channel lineups for the seven P12 Network channels. One channel might be an easier sell.
