BC, I do not think we disagree in the least.
I am suggesting a trial with volunteers that did receive the first dose in which the 2nd dose is delayed 3 or 6 months. Of course I expect the volunteers to be warned of the experimental nature, etc, as with any trial. As a potential volunteer, I might be MUCH more inclined to delay a second dose (compared to the unknown nature for the original trial volunteers) to help give better understanding as to whether delaying the 2nd dose could get all of the world to a single dose level and reduce COVID prevalence among a larger population faster.
From a transcript you posted of an interview with a Pfizer person, it was unclear what trials they may be doing or planning.
