I think it's been clearly established he was much sicker than was let on on Friday.

Incidentally, his conduct, his almost-loopy gratitude, is consistent with what I've observed in people who honestly feared for their lives and were not sure if they were going to make it.

I've hoped for a long time Trump could change. It's possible this could mark a turning point for him, but most people I've known who speak almost cosmically happily in the hospital, after returning home, quickly revert to whoever they were before.
