Not really. The issue with antivirals, like the monoclonal antibodies is that they are probably most effective as early as possible. With influenza, antivirals are most effective within 48 hours of symptoms. So, the risk/benefit assessment is a bit different. Yes, usually you would wait, since the severity of illness is largely irrelevant to risks, but the benefits are highest for the riskiest situations. Here, the benefits wane the longer you wait.
