I'm really looking forward to watching football... in 2021 or 2022, when a vaccine is widely available, the pandemic is under control, students can go back to being students, and we can go back to having some semblance of what life was like before the pandemic. This year, football just feels like denial; we are trying to pretend that everything is back to normal and that 700 people a day aren't dying because of this virus. I am particularly apathetic because the only reason there is football is the money. Although Teejers makes a good point about how the revenue supports and AD salaries are supported by the revenue sports, it still feels like putting the cart before the horse.
I wish half as much effort was being spent on getting the virus under control as is being spent getting college football back on TV.

C’mon BC. Your last sentence is ridiculous. And you are about the last person to overstate things. If I was King for a day I’d say no College Football this year. But if Stanford plays, I’ll watch. We (I) desperately need entertainment. Otherwise we sit around all day talking about how many people die and what a shitty country this is. Which is essentially the Covid Board. I am depressed enough.....
The revenue sports? Let them try. Let the other sports try, too. Get kids playing tennis, swimming, gymnastics, golf, track and field, even water polo again. Get them back in school, appropriately, too. Kids in front of screens all day is not a good thing. More focus needs to be there, indeed.
As for the political commentary, Israel is completely locked down this point and Europe appears to be headed that way, too. Guess they should have paid more attention to getting the virus under control, too.
